The Shala's Artist of the Month

Cheryl Morse

Cheryl studied graphic design and worked in the fashion industry as a stylist for nearly 20 years working with national magazines as well as retail catalogs.  She is currently enrolled in a graduate program and pursuing a Master's degree in counseling with a specialization in Art Therapy.  Cheryl is a lifelong artist and student of alternative healing practices such as shamanic work and energy healing. She uses much of the rich imagery and information that comes through as source and subject for her artwork.
This vibrant body of work was influenced by images that came as a result of energy work with a healer who among other things, does chakra healing.  The pieces shown reflect her personal healing journey and exploration of the visuals through watercolor sketch, bodycasting, collage work and painting.
